  Essential Oils

France is a country known for its perfumes and essential oils and there is a considerable trade in these items between India and France. This year the special feature is devoted to India-France trade on essential oils. Lavender is very important oil from France and Lemon grass is important oil from India. Both of these oils figure significantly in India – France trade. Brief description of these oils along with their importance, production and trade data will be dealt with in this feature.

In addition to these two oils the feature article will also attempt to briefly review the whole scenario of essential oils; identifying the major oil yielding plants from India and France along with their English, Hindi, French and trade names, cultivation status, parts used for the oil extraction, oil yield ,uses and chemical constituents of the oils.
